Digital Signature Not Responding

I have Adobe Acrobat 2017, no updates available. When I open my file to add a digital signature box under "prepapre form" to the pdf, it goes into "not responding" for close to 30 minutes before it comes back up and allows me to place the box. I've tried several computers at our work office and it's the same across the board. Any assistance on this is appreciated. Thank you.

Does it do the same will any file? or it is just the one you are working on?

Can you try it with a blank document and does it cause the same problem?
