Disable Acrobat DC Tutorials

New Here ,
Aug 20, 2020 Aug 20, 2020

Hello,

Ever since I installed Acrobat DC it has been harrassing me with "tutorial" pop-ups like the attached. I have searched extensively (both with Google and through the preferences pane) and I can't figure out how to disable these entirely (rather than just dismissing them one at a time [by clicking the X] when they come up). Can anybody help?

-Sam

Can these be disabled entirely (not just dismissed one at a time)? Can these be disabled entirely (not just dismissed one at a time)?

Hi Samuelb

We are sorry for the trouble. As described you want to disable the pop up messages in Acrobat/Reader DC

Please go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC (Mac) > Preferences > General > Uncheck 'Show me messages when i launch Adobe Acrobat' > Click OK and reboo the application.

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

This does not fix the issue. Why is it so hard to remove this feature. It is super annoying to be doing your work and get interupted constantly with blue boxes that you can't turn off.

Hi @NoneYa13

We are sorry to hear that. Please go through the correct answer marked in the similar discussion https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/how-to-stop-the-windows-which-open-permane... and see if that works for you.

Amal

This is the most asinine thing a company can do. Make sure the tutorials are near impossible to stop from popping up as well as continue to have the same ones pop up again and again. I'm sure there is open-source software out there without the tutorial popups that will work as well or better than adobe's version at this point it might be time for a change.

Yes, what a pain, can't delete these unwanted pop-ups forced on me paying monthly for.  Responded to (2) would never recommend review requests and selected to have Adobe contact me regarding poor review,  ZERO response.

I am having the same issue.  When I uncheck "Show me messages" and close the program, it is checked when I reopen it.  It will not stay unchecked.  I do not know how to edit registry values so they below suggestion is useless to me without more detailed instructions.  It is ridiculous that this can't just be turned off automatically after the first few times you open the application.

Hello @martine_7652!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

Could you please share more details about the issue? Can you please share a screenshot of the pop-up window you are getting? Are you on a Mac or Windows machine, and what is the version? Ensure you are on the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.20474 (Win) | 25.001.20476 (Mac), Apr 28, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > Help> Check for Updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.

For the registry settings and steps, please refer to this link, as the steps are mentioned on how to edit the registry: https://adobe.ly/451AaUv

Let us know if you need any assistance.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
