disconnet all pdf files from creative cloud.

Hi,

I use pdf files for my profession (I'm a professor and have to mark many pdf papers simultaneously). Now, recently I joined creative cloud. The result is that each pdf file take various seconds to open because it connects to the cloud, making the workflow impssible. Question: is there a way to disconnet all pdf files from creative cloud? Thanks for adivising.

Marco.

If your files are stored locally, there should not be much of an 'online feel' to your workflow.  Your Adobe apps should be logged in to your Adobe account when launched, and not really ping outward unless you perform an online service.  Are your files stored on your computer?  Perhaps a network drive?  I would first confirm that your Acrobat Pro is connected to your CC account.  Is your ID showing in the upper right-hand corner?

Any details you can share about your situation could be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

My best,

Dave

Hi Dave,

thanks for your response, it is much appreciated, here are the details:

-- my acrobat is not pro, it's the free version
-- all pdf files are stored locally
-- a few days back, I purchused a subscription for photoshop, which came
with an account on creative cloud.
-- ever since, any time I open a pdf first it opens with a grey circle in
the upper right-hand corner, then acrobat stops working for, say, ten
seconds, after which the cricle display the icon of creative cloud
-- you may say that ten second is a little thing. However, I'm a teacher
and I have to mark a huge amount of students papers. My way to operate is
to open them in groups of 50 and this happens several times (because I mark
various excerices in turn), so, 10 seconds each document makes the workflow
intolerably cumberdome.
-- conclusion: I would like my acrbat to be *totally* disconneted from the
cloud; in particular, upon opening a file nothing shoul dhappen that is not
purely local.

Hope I explained the problem an many thanks for any help you'll be
providing. Best, Marco.

Marco - Thanks for the clarification. Perhaps you can try to disable the Adobe Cloud storage in Acrobat/Reader, and that will speed up your load times.  I will paste below a description posted in another thread:

*************************************************************************

You can use the Adobe Customization Wizard to disable the Cloud Storage in Acrobat and freeware Adobe Reader. Please refer to the following KB article to disable the online services Online features — Acrobat Customization Wizard DC for Windows

You can also refer to Disable online services/features in Acrobat Reader DC?

Good luck,

Hi Dave,

while I appreciate your kind help, I'm getting very upset with the way
Adobe operates.

I cannot solve the problem.

My point is: I purchesed a licence for photoshop; I was forced to also have
a cloud position (which I would have gladly avoided to). But that's
acceptable.

What is not acceptable is that the cloud get connected without asking with
my adobe reader and puts its hands into my computer. I have verified that
pdf files have been stored in the cloud. However, any time I open a pdf
file, Adobe infitrates in my local system and the file gets connected
(whatever this means) with the cloud. Result is that the cloud icon appers
in top right corner. This slows down unacceptably the workflow, besides
being an unwanted presence in my computer.

Now, my goal and only goal is:
when I open a pdf file i want that this
***does not trigger any activity outside my local computer***.
Please direct me, step by step, to obtain this result.

Best regards and many thanks, Marco.
