Document/Type Formatting Via User Instead of Default

Can I set up Acrobat so that new documents open with a set format (of my choosing). Same with the text tool, which defaults to something I constantly have to change.

What do you mean by "a set format", exactly?

Mostly has to do with the type formatting. Every time I put notes into a document, I have to reformat the type from the default (ie I have to indicate the font, size, color etc). Is there a way to save my preferences for this?
