E-Sign Template ignores form field settings when sent for signature

Hello!

We have a lengthy agreement with multiple fields for signature and I am trying to use the Template Library to identify all the fields that are either for pre-fill by the sender or for signature by the participants to expedite the process of e-signing the document.

My goal is to complete all of the pre-fill fields unique to each agreement, send to Participant 1 for signature and then to Participant 2 for signature, however, when I "Use Template", add the Recipients in the order I would like pre-fill and then signature to occur - all of the fields that have been set by Participant are overwritten by the Adobe and set to the Pre-Fill. This is inefficient as each field needs to be changed back to the correct Participant that was already set during the "Create/Edit Template" process.

Please see screen shots below for examples.

Is there something that I am missing? This is not working intuitively. I do not want to have to re-set all of the fields each time I send for signature. I just want to enter the information in the fields that have been set to 'Pre-fill'.

Thank you for your help!

3. Screenshot of Template with all fields set to Pre-Fill after the Recipients have been set in step 1 of "Use Template". Note: Signature Field & Radio Buttons in screenshot 1. were assigned to Participant 1 and are now set to Pre-Fill. I want the assignment set in the 'Create/Edit Template' process to flow thru to the E-Signature process.
