I'm using Acrobat Pro 2023 in conjunction with MS Edge to open pdf files on a webpage. The Edge browser locks up when I attempt to open the PDF and the PDF does not open. In Adobe Prefernces I tried turning off Potected View and that resolved the issue. I'm concerned that this method may pose a security risk. Is there somehting else I can try to resolve this?
Thanks

Thank you for reaching out with your question.
Are you using the Acrobat extension for Edge: https://adobe.ly/4iG0FTx? If not, how are you opening PDF files in Edge? We need a detailed description of your workflow. If it involves Acrobat, then the Acrobat engineering team will address it. However, if you are directly opening a PDF file without the Acrobat Edge extension, we will need to discuss this with Microsoft.
Let us know if you have further questions.

Tariq, Yes I have the Acrobat extension for edge selected.
Below is the web page where the PDFs are selected. The c0001- 10_2024-12-31_Transmittal_01p PDF at the botttom of the screen print is one of the ones I've been testing with.
If I leave the default Preferences setting to "Files from potentially unsafe locations" selected then the PDFs will not open. However if I change the selection to "Off" the PDFs do open. I'm concerned that leaving it in the "Off" selection will create a security risk.

I added a the website to the Priveleged Locations and that seems to have resolved the issue. I also left the Files from potentially unsafe loacations selected for added security.
