Hello,
I have a users that has a 5000+ page PDF of a trial transcript that has had headers and footers added by multiple people to denote the dates and basics of what happening through each section. So that would look like the date top left, who was being (cross-)examined by who in the center top, and what was being discussed on that day of the trial in the middle bottom. When we try to edit just a part that needs editing in the header/footer it takes us to page one and only shows the "date" header of the first page. If we go to the section of the PDF in the Header/Footer preview pane it does not change the headers/and footers in the edit fields for that section. If we attempt to change one it wipes out the others. Are we missing something that would allow use to edit just the header and footers we need to? We both have Acrobat Pro 2017. Any help would be apricated.
Thank you!

The Header/Footer feature of Acrobat facilitates a top & bottom, left, center, right entry. Acrobat also allows you to add additional 'sets' of headers and footers to a single document. But it's important to remember that they exist as complete sets at all times. You can create, and even save for re-use your header/footers. So to change some of the entry, you'll be applying those changes to all pages that use that H/F layout. You'll want to create and use very unique H/F sets in your long document. It's doable, but can be tedious work.
I hope this is helpful info.
My best,
Dave

Thank you Dave__M.!
I did some testing after reading your reply. I added multible headers and footers one at a time on different, but over laping, page ranges and in different blocks (top-left, top-middle, bottom-middle). As I added them I clicked on "Save Settings..." before clicking "OK". I used a naming convention of "Block_Page Range" example: "TL_1444_1478" (TL = top-left) . After I did that I was able to go back and go to Header & Footer>Update and choose the header or footer I wanted to change from the "Saved Settings:" dropdown menu, make the change, and click "OK" and have only that header or footer change with out effecting anything else. I really appricate the response. I have been working with bates labels and headers and footer forever and didn't make the connection.
