Editing fonts changes to weird characters

Acrobat DC - When attempting to edit a PDF the font is missing. Any ideas on how to address this?

I've restarted Adobe and Creative cloud. Checked that it is up todate. Also tried to toggle fonts on and off within Creative cloud, but this wasn't an option. The font list was empty.. and says to add more fonts.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @TAPC2021

Hope you are doing well and thanks for providing the screenshot of the issue.

This is an indication of corrupt embedded font in the PDF file. Refer to the following threads discussing the similar issue:

Adobe Reader DC: cannot extract embedded font "BKQYDZ+DejaVuSansCondensed"

Cannot extract the embedded font error

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Harsh
