Embedding multiple videos in a PDF only plays the first, despite all being set to autoplay

Community Beginner ,

I have the following issue and have found no solution so far:

I want to embed multiple mp4 video files inside a PDF file in Acrobat with Rich Media. But doing so only causes the "first" instance of videos to play, which in this case, is a page where 2 smaller videos are embedded. Those videos play automatically when opening the page as expected, but every following page that contains a video requires it to be manually clicked on in order to play, despite the settings "the page with the content is open".

This used to work just fine, I've created many PDFs with embedded videos that autoplayed on multiple pages, little to no issue.. If something changed in that regard, do let me know, but I see no reason this shouldn't work with the steps I've taken.

Adobe Acrobat Version: 2023.008.20470

Videos: mp4 H.264 AAC
the videos are sized between 2,7MB and 30MB. I've tried only with smaller videos, but this makes absolutely no difference, still the same issue..

I've also tried in an entirely separate 'naked' PDF, same problem. Only the first instance of videos will play when the page is opened, all following videos need to be clicked to play despite the same settings.

Appreciate any advice or information if something about Rich Media / video embedding has changed or is no longer supported. I can upload a test PDF if required, too.

Hi @Stephanie21778372ac4a

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out and sharing your observation.

Would you mind sharing a small video recording of the steps and the issue you are experiencing for more clarity?

As you have the most recent version of the application, would you mind collecting the Adobe CC logs https://adobe.ly/3HSrL8Z and the Procmon logs (Win Only) https://adobe.ly/3OC0JGC and share them via any cloud storage of your choice. Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Additionally here is the information for the Log Collector.

The following file has been uploaded on Adobe LogCollector Portal:

Is there any update to this issue?

I too am having this same exact problem as Stephanie, where autoplay not functioning as expected when multiple videos are embeded into a PDF. The first video will play, but the subsequent videos require clicking to be played. Even returning the the first video that initially automatically played no longer does so. This behavior is the same between Adobe Acrobat Pro on my Windows computer, as well as Adobe Reader on my Mac

Adobe Reader Version (MacOS): 2024.002.20687

I am also having this issue. The same file I used perfectly fine for presentations last year now cannot activate several videos in a row upon opening a page. Seriously how do you manage to make things worse?
