I am creating a PDF from PNG's generated by Photoshop in Save for Web and I am getting this error (Acrobat could not open. Because it is not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged). It's not the first time it's happened. Also started to appear a warning about a protected mode.

This is happening with other image files as well, for example .JPGs (pictures). I'm using Save for Web because my file has cuts for the Instagram carousel.

I tried to generate a PDF from the printout, there is no such cut, it leaves everything on the same "sheet" and the size is disproportionate to the 1080x1080 px as well.

I talked to a colleague and he gave me another way to create a PDF using Photoshop! File > Automate > PDF Presentation, and choose the images and generate the PDF. It solved my problem for now, but I need to see how to solve it later.

Thanks for reaching out.

Would you mind elaborating on the process of generating the PDF from PNG in detail?

Are you using Acrobat Plugin to create a .pdf file from PNG? Or saving the .png file using "Save as PDF."  directly?

It could be the conversion did not complete successfully. So try converting a PNG file to PDF following one of these methods:

1- Open Acrobat>Tools>Create PDF>select the .png file> convert to PDF

2-Or right-click on any PNG file in the Windows File folder and "Convert to Adobe PDF."

    Hi @AkanchhaS8194121 ,thanks for the feedback! I'm generating the PNG from Photoshop's Save for Web, the image opens normally in the windows viewer. But when I go to File > Create > PDF from file, the attached image warning appears. I did the process you sent me, and it gives the same warning. This started happening from yesterday.

    There's a problem with the source file, which is why you get errors after conversion. 

    How about testing the same with another PNG file? Does it converts and open well?

    Here's an official help article that well explains the reason behind this error. Just go through it and see if that helps https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-error-1015-11001-update.html.

     

    Also, as recommended in the screenshot, Open the source application Print>select Adobe PDF as a printer, save the file and try generating the .pdf file.
