‎Thanks for note but that's already what I have tried numerous times and that doesn't work either.

I have no idea what this bypassing stuff means. Recently, I've been unable to update my adobe acrobat IX and I get code 140000. This is a very frustrating and time consuming experience to try to solve this. Apparently, there is no way to talk or chat with someone, they send you on an endless journey to nowhere. Anyone know of how I can talk or chat with someone to solve my problem?

Thank you, for replying.

OS: Windows 7

Acrobat Version: Acrobat 9 Standard, Version 9.5.5

What update am I trying to apply: I'm checking for updates from the Help button on the top ribbon.

Trying to do two things, first just trying to check for any updates. Second, was doing so in preparation to convert my operating system to Windows 10 and thought that updating would make provisions for operating with Windows 10.

if you have acrobat 9.5.5, that is the last update.  (it's old and insecure.)

if you have a lesser version, you can update (sequentially) here:  ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/

Confusingly, while Acrobat 11 was called Acrobat XI, Acrobat 9 was never called Acrobat IX... just one more way to catch us out...!
