I am using Adobe Acrobat DC on a Windows 10 computer.
When I try to digitally sign a document, I get this error:
The Windows Cryptographic Service Provider reported an error:
The smart card has been reset, so any shared state information is invalid.
Error code 2148532328
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks~!
Note: digital signing works without any issues in Adobe Acrobat Reader on the same machine. This is just an Adobe Acrobat issue.

Hi Charlotteh,
Based on the above mentioned description, you are getting Windows Cryptographic error when signing a pdf using certificate, is this correct?
Please try the troubleshooting steps given below:
1- Check if an update is pending for Acrobat- click "Check for Updates" under Help.
2- If that doesn't work, try updating driver for your device as this link discuss: Windows cryptographic service provider error, error code 2148073485
3- If that doesn't resolve issue, try creating a new digital ID/crypto folder, steps are given here: Signature creation error when you sign a PDF (Adobe Acrobat 8, 9 on Windows)
Could you let us know the dot version of Acrobat running on the machine: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC
Let us know if you need any help.

Hi Shivam,
1. There were no Adobe updates
2. I already updated the card reader software and the issue continues.
3. I could not create a new digital ID (would not see the card reader).
Please note that on the same computer Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed and works flawlessly with the card reader.
Thank you.

Hi Charlotte,
Could you try repairing Acrobat using "Repair installation" option under Help menu , reboot the machine after repair and check?
