EUTL auto sync doesn't run

Community Beginner ,

Adobe updates the list of EUTL certificates regularly, but Adobe Acrobat does not sync with that list automatically.
You need to force sync manually for the Adobe Acrobat EUTL list to update.
It's a bug that Adobe must solve, since theoretically it should automatically synchronize if more than 14 days have passed since the last synchronization, but it is something it doesn't do.
Tested on multiple computers, it only syncs manually, never automatically.
If you do not update, checking for signatures issued with that certificate fails with a validation error.

And certificate is on EUTL since July, 24 (this year 2024), but internal EUTL list in Adobe Reader never update, unless we update EUTL manually or install Adobe Acrobat again (in the new installation it seems to perform a synchronization)

Thanks

Hi @miguel_0352,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.

Are you still experiencing the issue?

Would you mind updating the app to the latest version (2024.005.20xxx) and letting us know if it fixed the issue?

To do so, go to Menu-> Help-> Check for Updates.

If not, we will take this up with the dev team for further investigation.

Hi:

Yes, I have 2024.005.20399 version and issue still happens.

The only way to update EUTL list is to do it manually, never sync automatically.

Thanks

@miguel_0352,

This is what I got from the devs:

1. Acrobat automatically checks for new update after every 14 days.
2. New file is only downloaded if there has been a new update since the last checked date.
3. if either of the above condition is not met, updates have not installed properly.

You may need to manually update addressbook via trustmanager or set bWasFallBack reg to 1 for forcefully updating addressbook and bypassing all checks. You can follow the steps below:

path :

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe\Acrobat\Trunk\Security\cDigSig\cAdobeDownload

set bWasFallBack to 1.

Look for cLastFileDate at path:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe\Acrobat\Trunk\Security\cDigSig\cAdobeDownload\cLastFileDate

If found, delete this registry. Launch Acrobat and try a signing workflow or open a signed file to trigger addressbook download.

Hope this helps.

I know that exists solutions for Adobe to update the EUTL list, but if the two alternatives are:
1. Manually force the update with button "Update now" or
2. Modify the windows registry
I prefer the first option, it's easier.

The problem is not my computers. I can update them so they validate the signature correctly, the problem is the rest of the computers, since when I send them an electronically signed PDF file, one message will appear on their computers with "signature is not valid" text, since they do not have the EUTL list updated.

The only solution is Adobe to update that list automatically without the user having to make any intervention.
