Excel Print to PDF is coming out the wrong size

New Here ,
Mar 16, 2023 Mar 16, 2023

For years I have been printing Excel Docs to PDF with no sizing issues. Over the last few weeks, they have been printing to a 19x22 size. All settings are set to print to Letter 8.5x11, but it keeps printing in this massive size. Can anyone help with this sizing issue?

I'd be curious to know if this issue is also present if you use the PDF Maker (Acrobat ribbon) in Excel instead of printing to PDF.  You can apply some preferences that may help control the output.

Hi @Jack28915877uw5t

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

What is the worksflow/steps you are doing to print to PDF? Are you printing to PDF or Printing to Adobe PDF? A small video recording will be very helpful.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.01.2006x  installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

You may also try to create the PDF from the Acrobat ribbon in MS Excel as shown below:

Hey Amal,

Thank you for getting back to me. Yes I am on the latest version (23.001.20064). I have gone into every setting, including the settings you showed above, and set it to print at 8.5x11 and it still is printing in a larger size. My coworkers are able to print the same documents to PDF and theirs come out correctly. In the meantime, I found a loophole where I can convert it to a PDF in the larger size, and then I can print that to a PDF and it will print to the correct size. It would be helpful to not have that added step every time, but it works for now.

Hi @Jack28915877uw5t

Please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check.

@Jack28915877uw5t ,

Is this happening on Apple's macOS or Microsoft Windows?

Are you able to verify if unattended updates took place for a printer device driver, the operating system and your version of Microsoft Office?
