Hey so my explorer.exe stops responding everytime I click on a pdf file then after some time an acrobat pop up will show up saying “An internal error occurred ” then explorer.exe would either start working again or restart. This happens even when Im not trying to open the file but move it.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app without any luck.
Please help.

Just for troublsehooting purposes, have you tried disabling Protected Mode at Startup?

Also, in which version of Windows and which version of Adobe Acrobat is this happening?

Hi I am currently running windows 10 pro version 22H2 and Acrobat is version 22.0.

And I have disabled Protected Mode at Startup in the acrobat setting without success.

Have you tried  cleaning up windows temp folders and the user cache folder :

  • C:\Windows\Temp
  • C:\Users\yourUserAccount\AppData\Local\Temp

A restart may be required.
