exporting comments into excel spreadsheet

Hi All... I need to find some way to export my comments into an Excel spreadsheet. Any help out there?
BACKGROUND = For our document reviews, I have the reviewing team leave feedback in a pdf version of the document, I import all comments received from their seperate files into a single "comment master," then I post that 'comment master" for the authors to work with during the comment resolution period.
ISSUE = For the comment resolution part, the authors want to go back to the old Excel spreadsheet method for comment collection that we had used before, because they find managing the feedback is too hard in Adobe.
~ If I could export the full comment summary into Excel, I might be able to have the best of both worlds. There's got to be a way to do this, right?... even if it's a two-step process, I'd still really like to hear your ideas. ~
Thanks so much!!!

Thanks for replying! Unfortunately, I’ve tried that and am only given the options to export to Word, AutoCAD, or data file. I thought data file would allow me to choose Excel, but it only resaves as .fdf or .xfdf. Would I have the Excel option if I upgraded to a newer version of Adobe?
Thanks much!

Exporting comments to a format that Excel can read requires using a script.

A script that performs this function is available through the Actions Exchange at adobeusers.com:
http://acrobatusers.com/actions-exchange/create-comment-summary
Download the pdf from the link above, which includes instructions on how to use the Create Comment Summary Action. Note that you must dowload and import the Create Comment Summary.sequ file attached to the pdf. This link contains a video tutorial.
This is a great tool, but could be improved by grouping actions related to the same comment on single rows, rather than create a new row for each action. I will create a new post to inquire about how this functionality might be achieved.
