File format gets changed while attaching

When I try to attach PDF file to Gmail, the file format and icon changes from Adobe PDF to general type and all the PDF files in the system also get changed to general format. How can I get rid of this?

From what you are describing it seems like the file is being uploaded to Google Drive.

Have you tried doing the same with a different free email provider (i.e. Yahoo!) ?
