Files are combined in wrong order

I'm using Adobe Acrobat DC. When I combine files using the Combine Files feature, choose to Add the Open Files to combine. They are combined in the wrong order, opposite order of the tabbed files. Can this be fixed so that when you have Tabs open, the combined files are in the same order of the Open Tabbed Files.
I'm using Acrobat DC, Windows 10.
Thank you, Trish Vrooman

Once files are added, you can select one or more and rearrange to the proper order before you select the "Combine" button

Yes, that’s the workaround. Odd it adds the last opened Tab as the first file, etc. Should be in the same order as the Opened Tabbed Files. Can Adobe fix that?

Are files named with a prefix that would place into combine window in order? (example 1. Intro, 2. TOC, 3. Content)

No, they are files we open from an email, they open in their own Tab, then we need to combine them into 1 file, from how they're appearing in the Tabs (from left to right). Then we have to re-order the files in the next dialog box.

Does anyone in this group have access to Adobe Tech Support, to possibly add this into the next version update?
Files should appear in order, like a reading order left to right (when combining files)

This has been an issue since 2018 (at least that was the oldest post I found on this board). ADOBE - wake up! When I'm combining over 100 documents, they need to actually combine in the order that they are listed!!! Chaotic random placement is useless. Here is my work around--I use a FREE version of another company.

We are sorry for the delay in response. I tried to reproduce the issue on my end and its working fine. Would you mind sharing the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 22.2.20191 Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer.
If it still doesn't work, please share a small video recording of the issue and the steps you are doing.

Has there been any update to this? I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 2024.002.20759
I have 12 files open in individual tabs. When I click "Combine Files" then "Add Open Files" the "Open PDF Files list is not the same as the Tab Order, and when I click "Add FIles" they combine themselves in that order, not the order opened and not the tab order. This, of course, forces me to have to move them around. Annoying enough when there's only 12 files (which may or may not be named in a way that I can recognize when trying to move them around), but when there's 40 it becomes near impossible.
Is there a way to combine files in the tab order that they are are?

Hi there
I tried to reproduce the issue on my end and its working fine, try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.
Try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/3xgVLcZ and check
You may also create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.
If it still doesn't work, please remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://adobe.ly/3VviwTO, reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the direct link https://adobe.ly/4eeLezC

I have the same problem, using the Cloud/Web interface. I replied the action now in the desktop app and it works properly, sorting the pages on the combined filenames. Windows 10, Acrobat DC Pro 32 bit, version 2022.002.20212.

This happens to be as well! So frustrating. I have to go through and reorder the entire document and hope I haven't messed it up!
What is the solution?

See my same case just above. Use the desktop app and not the web based service.
