Fill a field from a drop down box

I have been searching for an answer for this but can't find the precise formula.  I have a drop down field with about 7 product choices.  The user will pick a product and I need the Unit price field to populate based on the product chosen.  I've read several of the suggestions from several posts on here and I found some that were close but not the same.  Any help would be great.

1. In dropdown field -> Options tab , set export value of choices to be their price and tick  'Commit selected value immediately'.

2. Lets say your dropdown field is named "Dropdown1" under 'calculate' tab of Unit field select 'Simplified field notation' and enter: Dropdown1
