Fill and Sign Signature disappears when next fill and sign is attempted

Since Covid hit our company has been using pdf's in place of paper for invoice approvals. Our invoices require two approvals. On rare occassions, but enough to need to find a fix, after the 1st person uses Fill and Sign "Sign Yourself" to put their signature on it and then save and email it to the next approver, when the second approver clicks the "Sign Yourself" option, the first signature disappears. It is probably only 1 in 250 that we see this on, but now and then it happens and we are trying to figure out how to stop it. The person trying to do the second approval is using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (64 bit) version 2022.001.20117. The times we do see a problem with this it seems to come from people using Adobe Pro for the first approval. Any recommendations for a not terrible tech speak person to try would be really greatly appreciated.

Once the PDF file is signed and the signature process is completed the file gets locked for further editing. As mentioned there are two signatures to be done on the file, please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/using/send-document-for-signature.html and see if that works for you.

I am extremely confused by that because we put multiple signatures on a file many times every single day. Again, this is a regular PDF that we are using the "Fill and Sign - Sign Yourself" feature for. We drop our signature in the approrpriate box and then resave the PDF. We have been doing it for over two years and it has only been a problem on a handful of them during that time. This may happen on an invoice that was submitted to us from an external source that we are putting an approval signature on or it might be an internal Word Doc that is requesting a payment and turned into a PDF but it is not something that we are using an Adobe Sign service for or anything of that nature. Just random times that the first "Sign Yourself" signature disappears when you click that option for the second Sign Yourself approval.

Would you mind sharing a small video recording of the steps you are doing to get the document signed by other users?

 

You may use the Fill and Sign > Sign yourself option to sign the PDF file and then click on the next button to request signatures from other users on the same document as shown in the screenshot below:
