Fillable form using Simplified field notation

Community Beginner ,
Apr 16, 2024 Apr 16, 2024

The subtraction total works using Simplified field notation but I would prefer the minus sign to be before the Total rather than after. Example -10 rather than 10-

Does anyone know how this can be acheived?

Thank you

Maggie

Do you mean in the field name? The problem with that is that "-10" can be a field name, or it can be a quantity. The built-in script can't know which one you mean. So it's not a good name to use.

If you really want to use it then you should use a custom script for the calculation. There you could specify any field name you wish.

Thank you for answering.

No it isn't the field name it is the calculation its self. It is on page 2 of the form attached.

Ah, I see. Go to the field's Properties and change the Direction setting (under Appearance) from Right to Left to Left to Right. The former should only be used for fields that show text in RTL languages, such as Hebrew or Arabic.

If you want to align the text to the right use the Alignment option under the Options tab.

Thank you. Is there a way for the minus sign to be before the total rather than after in other words (-10 rather than 10-) ? I know it's a very small thing but would be grateful if you can help.

Yes, if you do what I described above.
