Font issues when converting PowerPoint to PDF

New Here ,
Feb 05, 2021 Feb 05, 2021

Hi - I work at a company where we're trying to deploy a PowerPoint using the Google Font Jost. It has tested well on my MAC and PC, but when some users utilizing PowerPoint 2019 and 2013 save as a pdf, the font changes. The font is embedded in the PowerPoint, for me it works even if I uninstall the font from my MAC. Any ideas?

Acrobat's PDFMaker does not currently support use of fonts embedded in Office documents themselves. You must have the font installed on your system to be recognized in the creation of the PDF file from either Word or PowerPoint.

Hello @JPetty0

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

When you convert a PowerPoint file to PDF, Acrobat and Office rely on the fonts installed locally on your computer—not the ones synced only through Adobe Fonts in the cloud.

Recommended Solutions:

Use Acrobat’s “Create PDF” Tool Directly. Instead of exporting from PowerPoint, open Acrobat and use: Menu > Create > PDF from File, or in PowerPoint, use the Acrobat ribbon to create the PDF.

Embed fonts in PowerPoint before exporting. In PowerPoint, go to File > Options > Save > Preserve fidelity when sharing this presentation.. Enable “Embed fonts in the file” and choose Embed all characters. Then save and export to PDF again. (Steps may vary due to the version installed)

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

What if the font is installed not only to the PC but it's been installed via the Adobe cloud; but still doesn't show when converting my PowerPoint to PDF?
