I am building a fillable form to serve as a “read and acknowledge” form. The acknowledgement is an e-signature. I want the user to sign the form on a tablet with their finger. Then the form is saved as an individual document. The original form is then used again for the next user. I do not need a digital signature or a signature workflow.
I would appreciate if someone can show me or direct me to some documentation concerning the “how” to achieve this.
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC version 2021.005.2060 on Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.19043 Build 19043

Hi Rboggio
Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you want to send the form for signature to the recipient so that they can sign it on tablet using fingers and you do not want need a digital signature or a signature workflow.
You may try sending the copy of the PDF form as an email attachment to the recipient, also make sure the users are using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (Freeware application) to fill and sign the PDF form om tablet using fingers.
Also make sure that you save the PDF as Reader enabled. Open the PDF form > File > Save As other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable more tools.
Let us know how it goes.

I would not be "sending" the form. It will be local on a table in my store. My question is how do I implement the e-signiture functionaity i.e. not digital siginiture. The work flow is open the form, have the customer read it, then acknolage it with an e-signature on the tablet. At that point its "save as" customer name and the workflow is complete.

Hi there
Once the PDF form is signed by a user (digital or electronic) signature, the PDF gets locked for further editing and it can not be reused. It would be better to send the copy of the form in the email so that the user can access it on his device and fill and sign it.
Additional information: If you are trying to create and enbedd the PDF form on your website, allowing multiple people to easily access your form or document and create an agreement you may check out the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/using/web-forms.html and see if that works for you.

Hello,
In Acrobat I do not see it very easy, I think it is better to do it with Adobe Sign and the forms option, so you will have an electronic signature.

I am somewhat exasperated concerning this. The e-signature is a common “thing” now. The idea adobe fails to have this feature for a fillable form is inexcusable. No matter, I will find another tool to get’er done. Thanks for all the replys.

On iOS or Android systems you can use the Fill & Sign app.
