Is it possible to fully embed a font into a PDF Form so that the user of the PDF Form does not need to have the font installed on their machine? It seems the answer is no, but I want to make certain. If it is possible, then how?

It's actually impossible not to do it. When you select a font for your field it becomes fully embedded in the file automatically. Otherwise the user won't be able to use it...

I just uninstalled a font that is in a PDF form field and the font showed up correctly in the form fields. Some other fonts when I install them from the computer, the font changes to a default adobe font.
Is there a way to check which fonts can be fully embed and stay with the document and which ones won't? I view the properties of the fonts and nothing looks different in the setup of them.

AFAIK, if you see a font in the list of available fonts for a field, then it can be fully embedded. Otherwise it won't be possible to use it.

If you select a font in Acrobat for a form field, then as try67 says, it gets embedded.
If you're creating a form in InDesign and using the new font-selection option for form fields in InDesign, it doesn't get embedded.

I have several fonts that will not get embedded in the form fields. They are specialty "doodle" fonts that a symbol is a letter (example a = picture of apple, b = picture of banana). If I send this file to a computer that does not have this font installed on it, the pictures do not show up. The letter a or b show up in some adobe default font. I am not sure what the problem is if you are saying it is suppose to embed the fonts automatically.
I have read enough forums that state that some fonts can not be embedded since the designer of the font does not allow it. How do I check this?

What you describe should never happen. Can you make and publicly share a file like this?
