Functionality after Mac migration

New Here ,
Aug 26, 2023 Aug 26, 2023

I recently did a simple migration from my Mac Mini to Mac Studio. Initially had problem with Adobe Acrobat new UI, but found that I can return to old UI.

Overall functionality seemed normal, but two problems have come up.

1. The "save as" generates a blank screen overlap rather than the finder. I found work arounds, but wondered what setting I am missing to get things back to normal.

2.While the Scan & OCR tool seems to work, it ctually does nothing -- the image remains.

Not sure what other tools might be a problem, but those are two important ones for my daily work...

Thanks for any help....

Hi, @Melvin275074499t5h, Glad you were able to resolve your issues. You do not state what your scanner is, but since you are on a Mac, you are restricted to using Apple's "Image Capture." I do not know what your needs are, but if you ever scan documents or photographs, you'd be well served to use the software that came with your scanner, save the files to you desktop (or wherever) and once the scan is completed, to then drag the TIF files onto the Acrobat icon in the Dock and do the conversation then.

Sadly, Image Capture is a dreadful piece of software that does not allow the user to make any subtle alterations on an image. Scanning, like photography, where it is MUCH better to do as good a job as possible during the image creation and not rely upon fixing it in Photoshop." Anyone can make a great image fantastic, but it's very challenging to make an OK, great.

To get a better idea of why this can be important, please take a few minutes to read a blog I wrote for Adobe a number of years ago.

Enjoy!
