FYI for shared review hosts, the latest Acrobat Pro version no longer has the Send for Comments tool

My version:

Continuous Release | Version 2024.004.20220 | 64-bitTHIS IS NOT THE VERSION RELATED TO THE TITLE. Read below.

Hi. So I'm not sure when my Adobe Pro updated, but yesterday when I tried to send a file for shared commenting, I couldn't, for the life of me, find the Send for Comments tool.

After some googling, I couldn't find any recent (this past year) posts about my situation, but did find similar ones where people said to 'Disable new Acrobat' or whatever it's called under the File menu tab. I did that straight away, however without taking note of what Acrobat Pro version I had, hence the disclaimer above. After the application reset, the Send for Comments tool was back.

This post is just a PSA to others, as well as a question to Adobe as to why the Send for Comments tool is missing from the latest Acrobat Pro version? (Sorry that I could not provide the version number).

Thank you.

Oh my god. I finally found where it sits now lol.

So, with the new Acrobat experience enabled, the Send for comments tool is gone.

And I wasn't just dreaming the tool used to be there, because I organised my toolbar to have the Send for comments tool at the TOP, since it is the one I use the most for work!!!!
As I mentioned in the OP, to send PDFs for shared reviews, I'd have to disable the new Acrobat experience then re-enable once that's done (because I actually really love the UI of the new experience, especially  RHS side panel viewing settings and options).

Well, hallelujah, I found where the send for comments sits now!!!!!! See screnshots below.

My Friday has instantly gotten better now that I've finally found the tool without having to bloody disable and enable Acrobat every time. Woo!

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

We're glad to hear that you found the "Send for Comments" tool under the "Customize Tools" option. However, please note that this tool is also available in the left-hand panel (LHP) under "All Tools." After opening a PDF, users simply need to click "View More" to access it.

For those who frequently use this tool, it can also be added to the Quick Tools panel for easier access, as shown in the snapshot you provided.

Thank you again for your feedback!

Best regards,
Arvind

I'm sorry but... I checked the LHP, both expanded and collapsedmultiple times, cos I thought I was going crazy. It's not there. Send for comments has gone missing from the LHP for at least 2-3 months now.

Hi @arvindy,

How strange! My Acrobat details:

And my OS details:

FYI, I haven't tried uninstalling and reinstalling as it's a pain on my work laptop...and since finding the second solution, I'm not too stressed about it missing from the LHP. Thanks for investigating further however.

Regards,

Vanessa
