HELP - copy paste without function

New Here ,
Dec 02, 2024 Dec 02, 2024

HI all!

I am new to using adobe, I scanned a document for my company and I was hoping to make it fillin/editable. I was able to do this, but also used the "copy/paste" of the check boxes and now they are copying all of the functions (ie: I check one box, and all 6 of that copy check). I know I can change the names of the fields, but is there anyway to 1) reset all of them or more than one group vs individually and 2) change this function so in the future this doesnt happen again? I have explored "properties" but at this point am having to edit each check box name by itself which is very time consuming.

Thanks!

1+2) No.

What you can do, though, is use the Create Multiple Fields command, by right-clicking the first field in Prepare Form mode, which will create a grid of new field with the same properties, but with unique names.

If you want to rename the fields you already created you will need to use a script, but it will cause you to lose any actions you associated with them, such as Calculation, Validation, Format, etc. One such script is this (paid-for) tool I've developed: https://www.try67.com/tool/acrobat-rename-duplicate-fields-to-unique-fields
