All of a sudden, I am having issues with downloading PDF files on to my computer I didn't have before. I work in Adobe Acrobate Pro 90% of the day, everyday. When using the download symbol arrow, I see my document being saved as automatically in file type as "PDPPlus.Document" and not "PDF files (*.PDF)". See the attached redacted docment. I'm not sure how to file it. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Denise

Hi there
Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
It sounds like your files are being saved with the wrong file type ("PDPPlus.Document" instead of ".PDF"), which can be the result of changes in file associations. PDFPlus is a non-Adobe application/Services.
Please try to re-associate PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Pro:
On Windows, go to: Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Choose default apps by file type
Alternatively, right click on any PDF file on your desktop > click on 'Open With' > Click 'Choose another app' > Select Acrobat Pro.

Thank you for response. Before I sent this post, I went into the Windows, go to: Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Choose default apps by file type and I selected the Adobde Acrobat DC w the extension of .pdf. Still now, I am not able to download the court pleading from the online docket to my computer because it still states in the "save as type" as PDPPlus.document and not PDF files (*.PDF). I checked my property dialog box and it show already shows Adobe Acrobat DC.

Does this happen with other sites that have downloadable PDFs?

I tried another court. When I save it to my computer it still
shows PDPPlus.Document. It started about 1 week ago so I'm assuming its on
my end. I work from home so I wonder if my college daughter used my work
computer. I see this format is:
A "PDPplus.document" file likely refers to a data file used in the
Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP), a system for reporting education data
between institutions and third parties. Specifically, PDPplus often
indicates a file format used for submitting information about students,
courses, and financial aid data. The "document" part suggests it's a file
that contains a collection of organized data, rather than a specific type
of software or document.
Do you have any suggestions how I can fix this and go back to the save as
type back to pdf extension?
Again, any assistance is greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Denise McCullough

Hi @Denise McCullough ,
It is worth noting that PDPPlus documents may be distributed for download as a CSV file (or a text delimeted file), in which case, it should open with Micrososft Excel. It has to be manually printed to or converted to a PDF document from the MS Excel application in order to be able to view it on Acrobat as a PDF document.
However, in your shared screenshot, it appears as if you're using Gmail and Google Chrome web browser altogether. It is blurry and I can't see what exactly is the little green icon next to the Adobe PDF icon (bottom right corner).
I wonder if you are actually trying to download PDF attachments directly from Gmail, or if you are accessing Google Docs and trying to save those files from the cloud space directly to your local hard drive in your PC.
If that would be the case, before you click on "Save As", and assuming you are actually on the Google Drive cloud space, are you able to right-click on any of the listed PDFs and select "Properties" from the context menu?
If you are able to do that, see if it says something different than just Adobe Acrobat Document (.pdf) and post a nother screenshot.
