Help with signature stamp

I am using Adbobe XI.  I am trying to create a signature stamp so that I can stamp my signature on pdf documents as needed.  I followed a YouTube video and took the following steps:

Scanned a signature to pdf

Converted it to jpeg

used paint.net to make it transparent, and saved it in a png extension.

When I simply click on that png file and open it, the signature looks fine.  But when I try to create a new stamp in adobe, the signature cannot hardly be read because the background is dark dark grey, almost black.  I cannot figure out why or how to fix.

Can someone help me with this?

Try saving to a different file format like PDF or GIF.
