Help with Version 8 and 10

Hello Sir/Madam;

My name is Randy Earle and I have been running Adobe Acrobat Standard 8 with 10 upgrade successfully for the past several years.  I know this software and version very well and just recently my computer cashed.  I downloaded what I believed is the 10 version but in no way does it look or responds like the version I purchased.    I am looking for the version I purchased and have been using and familiar with.

Windows 7 64 bit.

double click the downloaded file

when prompted enter the acrobat x serial number

when prompted, select acrobat 8 and enter its serial number

Hello;

I was able to download the correct software and installation files. The issue now is I am unable to register or activate the software. When I try to register the product I get connection failed, unable to connect to Adobe to Register the product. When I try top activate the product, the link is not active. Then it goes away and is replaced with Licensing with two options, Download E-License or Return E-License, neither links operate.

why couldn't you activate with your serial numbers?

again, forget registration.

you need to activate.  that happens while installing and entering valid serial numbers.

if you failed to do that, you're using a trial of acrobat x which will expire one month after installation.

to check, open acrobat>click help>do you see a clickable option to activate (you need to do that) or a clickable option to deactivate (don't do that; your acrobat is currently activated).

I used the license key to open and install the software. So I hope I am ok. One more question: My previous program had Adobe Acrobat 8 and viewer linked together. Meaning every time I opened a PDF file I was also able to write. How can you link the two together?

acrobat 8 is irrelevant (except for its serial number).

you should have acrobat x installed and with that program you can read/write/edit/create pdf files.

what does cs3 have to do with acrobat x?

You stated I needed Acrobat X…. I installed from your server you emailed me a file that stated CS-3. I have no idea what the difference them is. If I installed the wrong version or type, I need to know what the correct one is. Is there an install link for Acrobat 8 with the X you are referring to?

nothing was attached to your last message, but if you received anything via email, it was a scam, too.  give no info.

uninstall and delete anything you downloaded via your email or skype contact.  run antivirus scans or restore your computer to a state prior to installing the scammer's files.

do you see anything about skype?  have you communicated with anyone claiming to be from adobe via skype?

I do not see anything about Skype, I also removed the software from Programs and Features, I also ran Malwarebytes no threats detected

ok.  you should also run a virus scan.  if you revealed any passwords, change them asap.  if you revealed any credit card/bank info, report the breach to your credit card/bank.

after that re-read message 1 and follow the instructions.

I have not given any information to anyone… Virus scan was done no issues.

I am re-reading first message. If I am understanding correctly, in order for Acrobat 8 Standard to link with Asobe viewer so when I open any PDF if automatically opens into a window I can write. The software link on the 1st message appears to be the below column. There what I believe are two choices. DC,XL,X or 8. What one should I choose?

you can purchase the latest acrobat dc version, Adobe products: desktop, web, and mobile applications | Adobe

if you own a serial number for acrobat 8 and for acrobat x, you can install acrobat x and open, edit and create pdfs with it.  because you probably have a newer (incompatible) os, you can expect some problems with acrobat x but it will be mostly functional.

however, if you need pdf security, you need to upgrade because acrobat x is no longer updated with the latest security patches.

Just to confirm, is the new dc version similar to version 8 as far as format and usability? I have one serial number. But is may work for both. What link should I use to download? Also, will it correct the link with viewer and writer? Meaning when I open a pdf file will it open to one format I can also write on?

acrobat dc is different from previous versions.

there are different serial numbers for different versions.  you need acrobat x’s serial number to upgrade to acrobat dc.
