Highlight/copy/paste on Adobe Pro Acrobat on new computer

I've used Adobe Pro for years, and this is only on my new windows 10 gaming computer. It won't let me Highlight/Copy/Paste anymore....instead it puts verticle blue frames on the page and I can no longer copy anything.

I can't seem to find a setting for this?

May be that there is no text only images.

There is only text on these documents and it is only happening on my new computer...it has to be some setting.

The document is composed out of images. You have to first run Text Recognition on it, and if the results are successful then you would be able to select and copy the text.

Nope, these are not scanned documents, they are original adobe pdf's. AND it is only happening on my new computer, so it must be a setting??
