I have a batch of EMLX files from my old Mac Mail archive, and I need to convert them to PDF for legal documentation. Can someone recommend a reliable tool that preserves the original formatting and attachments?

Acrobat doesn't seem to support these files natively. You will probably need to look for a converter, or to print them out from within an application that can open them to PDFs. The latter will be more difficult to automate, though.
Another option it rename them to .txt files (since that's what they are essentially) and then convert them to PDFs using Acrobat. The result will not be as legible, but it will be accurate, and easier to create. Here's an example.
