Our VP of Sales insists he cannot sign a PDF in Acrobat Standard DC which was created in an older version, such as Standard 9, and wants to continue using Standard 9 (he had this previously on his old PC, and says he could use it to sign these types of PDFs). I actually don't have Acrobat Standard DC installed on my machine, so can't play around with it to find out if this is true. Is there a compatibility setting he is missing?
Thanks in advance!

Hi there
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.
What happens when he opens the PDF file in Acrobat Standard DC for signature? Does he get any error messages? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for a better understanding?
Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.
Also, make sure you have the application updated to the recent version. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
We are here for help, just need more information.
Regards
Amal

There shouldn't be any problem doing it. Acrobat is fully backwards-compatible and can open and interact with all (valid) PDFs that were created using previous versions.
