How do I disable the free trial popup?

How do I make the "Start your free trial of Acrobat" popup stop appearing? It delays things every time I open Acrobat and I will never use it. I'm not going to start my free trial, because I can't do even that without giving credit card info. I just want the popup to never appear again.

@DTRFH If the pop-up is asking you to begin a free trial and demands credit card info, it means you haven't activated it yet. You're just seeing a persistent advertisement. If you had started a trial, they would already have your payment information. If, for some reason, you did accidentally sign up for a trial that's now active (the time is already ticking away!) and you want to ensure no charges, then, you would need to go to your Adobe account and actively cancel it.

Based on your description ("I can't do even that without giving credit card info"), it sounds like you're still in the pre-trial solicitation phase. To turn this pop-up, go into Acrobat Preferences. Look for options to disable marketing messages or welcome screens.

I get this message regularly. I uninstall the Adobe app, then reinstall it, and often that works for a while. But a few weeks later, the pop-up returns. Moreover, when I close the pop-up, that app closes, so I can't use Acrobat Reader at all! Very frustrating!!!

I fixed this — the popup was coming from the paid/Pro component tied to my Adobe ID. Two easy fixes that worked for me: Sign out of your Adobe account in the app (Help → Sign Out) — that stops a lot of the trial nags. If you don’t need Pro features, uninstall Acrobat Pro and install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (the free reader) — it doesn’t show the “Start your free trial” popup.
If you want a lightweight option for downloading/reading PDFs,
Hope that helps!

Hi

You raise a good point. The answer is because they, Adobe are desperate. Imagine some sweaty overweight, American CEO  wearing check trousers on a golf course (Think Rodney Dangerfield - Back to school) saying flood the market, "if we tell them enough times they will buy it, we are desperate they have to buy it" to keep me (CEO) in very loud check trousers for the golf course so as sure as the other Adobe lemmings have lept off the Adobe cliff................................................you will too  - waiting for your response Adobe - bring it on................. remember caddyshack ?? Ready when you are gopher !!!  (I I actually work for Aobe so I have the inside track) - none of the above is true as Shantanu Narayan isn't fat, isn't American and doesn't play golf - oh dear, another reason why not to trust Adobe - the hits just keep on coming - eh Jerry Mmcguire ??
