How do I get a scroll bar without then activating AI?

New Here ,

I have a massive document which I need to be able to move up and down at speed, without giving myself RSI from the mousewheel.

The scroll bar seems to have disappeared from my version of Acrobat Reader (Windows version)

When I looked this up on the forums, the only answer I could see was to activate the new version of Acrobat Reader, which gave me the scroll bar and also turned on AI.

I am now getting constant pop ups asking me to use AI to read the document. I do not want AI. I do not need it. I do not trust it (particularly anything which takes my data and uses it without my permission). I do not want the environmental cost that AI is charging. From reading the forums, it seems the only way I can get rid of the AI is to revert back to the old version of Acrobat.

Is there any way at all that I can have a scroll bar and NO AI? Or do I need to find something else that can open pdfs?

Hi ToonsterNZ,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble.

Please refer to the information in the following help document to turn off the AI Assistant feature in Acrobat: https://adobe.ly/4kMAISV. Check if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
