We recently switched from Adobe Pro to Adobe Acrobat DC. Now, when we save a word document as a pdf, the word reviewing pane no longer appears in the pdf document. What setting do I need to change to make this appear again?

Firstly, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Adobe Acrobat DC is the same application.

I have tried to replicate the behavior on our end. I have created a Word file and added comments to it.

Now, when I convert the Word file to PDF, it converts the comment along with the document as shown in the screenshot below:

If you are referring to this grey comment bar, then please refer to the steps mentioned below:

- Open the file in MS Word.

- Go to the Acrobat Tab in the menu bar at the top.

- Select Preferences > Word.

Hi Megans,

When you convert the Word file to PDF using Adobe PDF maker, it does convert the file with the comments page.

Acrobat only converts the documents to PDF and comments added to it.

However, the Review pane is an MS Word feature. It cannot be converted as a part of PDF.

As you have mentioned above that you have moved from Adobe Pro to Adobe Acrobat DC, could you please confirm the complete name of the application you were using before?

Which application you are referring to when you say Adobe Pro?

Also, were you able to convert the Review pane to PDF using that application?

Please confirm if you are referring to convert Review pane to PDF or the comment space to PDF.

Let us know if you have any questions.

We will be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Meenakshi

I believe the application we previously used was Adobe Acrobat Pro.

In the Word document, our comments appear in the reviewing pane (gray area that appears along the right-hand side of the word document) in comment balloons. When we were using the Adobe Acrobat Pro application, we would select "Save as Adobe PDF" from the word document, and the pdf document generated would contain the word document reviewing pane (gray area that appears along the right-hand side of the word document) along with the comment balloons that are contained in the word document.

Now, with the  Adobe Acrobat DC application, when we select "Save as Adobe PDF" from the word document, the pdf document that is generated does not contain the word document reviewing pane.

Hopefully, you find this explanation to be helpful in helping me find a resolution to this issue.

- Now try to convert the file and check if you get the comment review pane or not.
