Are you seeing this behavior with only the one PDF or multiple PDFs?  Windows or Mac?  Is the PDF secured or password restricted?

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Josh,

Thank you for answering.

What can be the PDF same trouble appears ( as soon as I intend to use the

tool « fill and sign » the pdf disappear).

I am using windows 7 familiale premium in French . It was working perfectly

up to now

As far as I recall the trouble appears after an windows updating, I’m unable

to recall which one as the updating is on an ongoing basis

Nevertheless since my first request of help I discover that if I load

windows in safe mode the acrobat tools works including the signature

registered

Any idea of what happened?

Thanks again to take care of my request

Nicolas

Hi Nicholas,

Can you please try updating your Reader. Go to Help --> Check for Updates.

Also I would request you to restart your machine once if possible post updating reader.

Do let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Sandeep Grover

Hi

I try it several times nothing changes. As soon as I try to use the “fill

and sign” tool the PDF disappear and can’t be re-opened .

Could it be due to the use of a free adobe ? can’t believe as before it was

working perfectly

Any way to chat with an hot line person ?

Regards

Hi Nicolasd63638017,

we would require following information to understand the issue better:

  • Environment/Platform/System information
  • Application(Acrobat/Reader) version
  • Does other views like Document Cloud, My Computer, Save As Dialog, Send and Track, Send for Signature etc. are working as expected ?
  • If observing blank view, go to Task Manager(WIN)
    • check whether a process named "RdrCEF" is running or not?
    • If running, is it in a hanged state?
    • If hange
      • WIN : right click on the process and create the dump file and share with us.
  • Check if Rdrcef.exe is crashing [Go to task manager(WIN) -> observe PID of AcroCEF/RdrCEF processes, it changes]
    • WIN :
      • enable the Windows crash reporting WER feature. Steps to enable crash dump creation: Collecting User-Mode Dumps (Windows)
      • OR You can also use the attached registry key to enable the automatic crash dump creation. This will place the dump at C:\Dumps\. dump.reg
  • If possible, share a video reproducing the problem.
  • Kindly share the contents of these two locations :
    • For 64 bit machine go to :
      • C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\<Reader/Acrobat installation>/WebResources/Resource0
      • C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\<Reader/Acrobat installation>/AcroCEF
    • For 32 bit machine go to:
      • C:\ProgramFiles\<Reader/Acrobat installation>/WebResources/Resource0
      • C:\ProgramFiles\<Reader/Acrobat installation>/AcroCEF

-Thanks

Sunil Soni

Hi

I use windows 7

Acrobat Reader DC freeware PDF reader

No one function is working as soon as I try to use one the PDF is gone away

Sorry for that but even with a translation in french I am unable to do what it is requested no task manager is working and RdrCEF just unknown in my computer.

I am an user of Adobe Acrobat not computer expert, up to now happy with it, and I wonder how it comes to such a disaster as when i try to write on a PDF it just disappear of the screen.

Nicolas
