That's not sufficient. Before doing that one should go to Edit - Preferences - Commenting and make sure that "Always use log-in name for Author name" is ticked off. And after doing that, and what you described, one needs to set the new properties of the comment as the default.

I also have this issue. I can change it by following these instructions, but even if I click to use as default i still have to do it for every comment which is hugely time consuming. I have also been to preferences as per the reply below and made sure that use login name is checked (and made sure that the login name is correct. Still it comes up with the wrong name. Please advise. Thanks

This worked for me:
1. open any pdf document
2. create a sticky note (it will have the author name you don't want at the header)
3. Press CONTROL + right click (Popup window appears)
4. Select "Properties"
5. Select "General" from one of three tabs shown for the Sticky Note Properties popup
6. Within the "Author" field, replace with name you want to use
7. Select checkbox option "Make Properties Default"
8. Select "OK".
9.This will change all comments globally in the document you have open, any all other files moving forward.
Hope it works for you!
