This is on: Adobe Acrobat Continuous Release Version 2023.001.20093 64 bit, Windows 11
In this new just released acrobat, we lost the ability to put and have the marquee zoom handy in a toolbar (or side panel, as it is now). We can access the tool from the menu (View -> Zoom -> Marquee Zoom) but this is cumbersome and inefficient.
Is there any way in which we could customize the side panel and add this tool (or some other handy tool like 'Take Snapshot' or the marquee snapshot tool as I call it).
It seems like the "Show/Hide -> Toolbar items" functionality is now gone, and this is bad. Can we request that this be back for this new side panels?
Attached are some screenshots of acrobat version and the new side panel.

Thanks for the communication. I just taught this to our IT folks here. This will avoid heart attacks. --> right side, 3rd icon from bottom, click, flyout, pick scroll and pin. Whew.

Another user frustrated by the lack of Marquee Zoom in a permanent toolbar. Telling the users to get 'familiar with the new interface' is misguided and patronising. Some of the features are no doubt fantanstic but as it is quite simply the easiest and quickest way to navigate around a file (a map file in my case) it needs to be an option to add to a permanent navigation toolbar. Why not listen to your users?

A terrible interface just got unuseable. AND THE SOLUTION IS SO SIMPLE: SHORTCUT KEYS for pro users that don't change. Never change. Like AutoCAD does, or Adobe does in EVERY CREATIVE CLOUD APP. We make complex pdfs and need to accurately zoom and navigate in the middle of online meetings daily. Having to pull the marquee zoom from the menu tree is a quality of life issue here. THANK YOU for the disable fix. Implementing company-wide immediately.

It is now possible to "pin" the Marquee zoom tool to the lower right sidebar. These instructions are for Acrobat Pro, Mac.
1. In the lower right sidebar, click on the Display the page at 100% magnification icon. (1:1 icon, third from the bottom, above the Zoom in icon, see screenshot) or the Fit one page within the window icon (Acrobat Reader).
A View flyout menu will open.
Marquee zoom should appear about halfway down the list under the "Other Tools" subheading.
Scroll down or click More if Other Tools is not visible.
2. Roll or mouseover the Marquee zoom listing – a Pin icon will appear on the right.
Click the Pin to add the "Marquee zoom" tool to the sidebar.
3. Pinned items are added at the top of the lower right sidebar items, above the page navigation tools.
To remove pinned items from the sidebar, right click on icons to access the "Unpin tool" action.

little closer, but still swing and a miss. why would anyone think it's a good idea to split these zoom and page TOOLS into their own menu on the complete opposite corner of the screen from the default toolbar location? why disallow these TOOLS from being included in the TOOLbar?

Totally agree, I just cannot believe they have just done away with quick access to a tool so fundamental to using Acrobat efficiently. It's blown my mind.

Please can you just allow the Marquee Zoom tool to be added to the side bar... URGENT, we dont want work arounds, just do it. It is fundamental to use.

Absolutely bonkers that this is not part of the default navigation tools, or that it is hidden. Thankfully you can switch back to the old layout and be productive with dynamic zoom. This may be a case and culture of looks over function.

I really wanted to give a try to the new acrobat, but come on... who came up with this...
