Using Acrobat X pro need to add filename into the header of 862 files. (problem shared by many)
It seems that this would be possible by using Java. While I am not fluent in it, I wonder if anybody would have written it, and could help to add it to the menu as a function. (as I need to do it so many times, I definitely would hope to be able to do it in one shot on many files (e.g. all files in dedicated folder). Any suggestions?

in particular I have found and tried "File Name Stamper.sequ" (33kB and File Name Stamper.sequ, 40 kB), but opening it ends with error "...is either not a supported file type or ... damaged..." (first one saved from a pdf file where it was as an attachment; second one downloaded directly from internet; thus email attachment decoding was not involved in either case). Based on the description this would be the tool I need, but as said, it does not work. What to help?

You don't open SEQU files in Acrobat. You install them to the sequences folder.

You can open SEQU files in Acrobat, but maybe not Acrobat X. In later versions they import themselves automatically into the Action Wizard when you double-click them or drag them into the application.

Try67; in my Acrobat X I cannot find Action Wizard, perhaps it is not available?

It is in the Pro version, not the Standard.

Thank you TSN (Test_Screen_Name), this sounds relevant. TSN, looking at my X installation, I see 22 subfolders (including e.g. plug_ins and plug_ins3d and Javasripts), but not "sequences" as you write. Any advice?

Don't open a .SEQU file, double-clic it to install in Acrobat Pro.

Or if it is easier, use the Import button in Action Wizard -- Edit Actions.

I've moved this from the poorly named Community Help forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Acrobat forum so that proper help can be offered.
