I have acrobat pro on a new computer.  I need to change the default settings to have "collate" checked.  I know I can do this manually every time but thats a pain to remember.  I searched the internet and cannot find an answer.  Adobes website says collation is the default setting but that is not the case.  Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Hi there,

I hope you're doing well, and thank you for reaching out.

Could you please share a short video recording of the workflow or steps you are following? This will help us understand the issue more clearly.

Regarding print settings, they are preserved until you change them. When you adjust an option, the Settings value automatically updates from Acrobat Default to Custom, and the new settings are saved. You can also save custom settings with a unique name in Acrobat Pro. For detailed instructions, please refer to this help page.

If you are trying to change the default printing preferences, you can follow the steps shared in the correct answer here and see if that resolves your issue.

Let us know how it goes.

This solution doesn't work for me. I understand print settings are supposed to be preserved until I change them, but mine are only preserved for the current session. As soon as I close Acrobat and open it back up, it reverts to the original settings.

For example, I most often use 17x11 paper size, custom scale 50%, and uncheck "print on both sides of paper. However, any time I close and reopen acrobat, it reverts to 8.5x11, actual size, and "print on both sides" checked. This has led to a lot of misprints and wasted paper.

Can someone please tell me how to permanently change these settings? Thanks.
