How to determine a PDF has been flattened?

What's the fastest way to verify if a pdf has been flattened? I require flattened PDFs but frequently receive docs that have not been flattened. What's the quickest way to double check? And if the PDFs are not flattened, is there a way I could perform that task for multiple files at once? Thanks

There are at least four completely different ways the word "flattened" is used for PDF, so you'll need to define exactly what you mean. If you don't know what it is, please tell us how you do it.
