How can I prevent this pop up from appearing everytime I open Acrobat Reader? It started just recently. I defintely do not have a subscription to Acrobat DC. I'm not even signed into an Adobe account.
Things I have tried so far:
- Uninstall/re-install
- Edit > Preferences > General > Uncheck " Show me messages when I launch Adobe Acrobat Reader"
It's quite a pest. It takes several seconds to load up and during this time it grays out everything.

Hi,
In Edit, Preferences, General uncheck "Show messages when I launch Adobe Acrobat":

Thanks for the tip, but as I explained in my original post, I have already tried that and it did not make a difference.

Yes, I apologize.
I noticed after I posted it and didn't modified my replied.
I was wondering if this could be resolved by resetting the preferences.
There is no keyboard gesture nor button to click on to reset the Acrobat Preferences.
So to do that, first you can test if this issue continues when you log in to your system with a different user account or a different user profile.
Or, actually check first if this is related to just one PDF file that misbehaves the same way on any other computer that you open this PDF .
But going back to resetting preferences, have you tried moving the current Roaming user profile to a temp folder, or deleting its contents, then reboot the machine, and open the PDF again.
This method should allow you to check/uncheck preferences options again.
Just the roaming user profile.
