thanks for showing me how to make multiple copies with independent names, I noticed when I generated those text field copies, that there is a space between them. However to fix this I tried shifting the bottom copy up into its place, and then selecting all the copies including the original, and trying to vertically distribute them so hopefully they shifted into place with no spacing. didnt work.
I wanted to generate the copies so there is no spacing between them, as thats how my document underlying fields are set. Is this possible?
Otherwise I find i`m manually clicking each one to shift it back up into place.
Using the "up" button in the copies settings doesnt work because its the spacing between generated copies that remains the same regardless.
its a small thing but saves time, otherwise I guess i`ll just resort to manually adjusting these for now.

AH I think I may have worked it out...
changing height to the minimum allowed can flatten one box against the preceding...
however,
is it possible to copy an instance of a form field to another page?
I cant seem to copy across pages...
I think I got it now,
"copy to clipboard"...
oh, and plain ol "copy" does work, it just pastes the copy at the bottom of the next page...
