Hi All,
I am using Acrobat Pro DC and am trying to set the vertical alignment of form field to bottom. When I click on a form field the Align selections are disabled. I read somewhere that you can not set the vertical alignment of form fields. Simple text aligns to the center and multiline aligns to the top. If this is the case, when do the align selections become enabled.
What is the reason why the vertical alignment cannot be set on form fields?
Thank you for your help!
Greg
The user can set it if they know how and the field is set to allow rich text formatting, but you can't preset it unless the field isn't blank. When the field is blank, vertical alignment defaults to top.

You need to activate the "Text Field Properties" bar. Make sure the text field is set to "Allow Multi-line". You need to be in the "Preview" mode of "Prepare Form" or not in the "Prepare Form" mode. Bring up the "Text Field Properties" bar by using the key combination <Ctrl> + "E" keys. Now high light the lines you want to have the paragraph formatting applied to and select the "More" option and then "Paragraph" tab.
Note this pop-up tool is dynamic so its contents change based on the "mode" you are in for processing the PDF, they type of field and the options in effect for that field.

Thanks so much for knowing the effect "Multi-line" has on vertical justification of text in the form fields. Genius! There's absolutely nothing about this effect in Adobe's help.

I am using Adobe Professional Pro 2017 created a form from word to Adobe. The typed text is showing middle and left aligned. I would like left aligned and bottom so it aligns with the original text. I did the <Ctrl> + "E" keys, highlighted the lines, selected "More" but I don't have the Paragraph tab. Have any ideas?

What can you see at More?

Same problem for me (would like to align text vertically and don't have a 'paragraph' tab).
I see: General, Appearance, Position, Options (where Multi-Line is selected), Actions, Format, Validate, Calculate tabs.

This is my version of the process. Hopefully it'll save some people the headache - there's no way I would've found this on my own. Not sure why Adobe made it so difficult to set alignment.
Aligning text, vertical and horizontal, within a PDF form field.
1) Click on right-side tool panel "Prepare Form."
2) Click "Preview" mode of "Prepare Form." Blue button at top right should show "Edit." Don't press Edit, as this will take you into Edit mode. Stay in Preview mode.
3) Click within the field you want to have the paragraph formatting applied.
Note: (NOT SURE IF THIS STEP IS REQUIRED.) There must be SOME TEXT in the field for the field to remember the alignment choice.
4) Bring up the "Text Field Properties" bar by using the key combination Ctrl+e.
5) Click the "More" button in the "Form Field Text Properties" box.
6) Click the Paragraph tab. This allows you to changed the horizontal and vertical alignment.
If anyone finds any corrections to this, please let me know.

Thanks Rob but it didn't work from me. Could be that I'm on a Mac. From Preview Mode (not Edit), Command+e (Mac's version of Ctrl+e) in a field that had text in it, the Text Field Properties box came up but everything was grayed out. And no More button (I do have it in the Edit mode).
