Newbie ... at least when it comes to reading books with AAR-DC!
Recently discovered that reading pdf books can be a pleasure via View/Reading Mode/Two-page view. I wish I had the ability to set that as my default or to have reading mode default to two-page view.
I had never understood why people would choose a book in pdf format as there were always all these menus and tools in the way!

Hi Lburg,
Thanks for reaching out. As desctribed above, you want to make the two page view as the default view for your PDFs correct?
Initial view setting is something decided by the Author/creator of the PDF file, once the PDF file is created only author can change the default view settings. However, you can change the view settings of a document and Adobe Acrobat Readed DC can remember the view settings for you so that the next time you open the same document, it will opwn with your prefered view settings.
After selecting your prefered view settings (Two side view) Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (Mac) > Preferences > Documents > Select, Restore last view settings when reopening the documents > Click OK and restart the application and check.
You may also refer to the help article - https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/viewing-pdfs-viewing-preferences.html
Hope this will help.

Amal

Thanks, Amal. What I wish is that I could choose to set AAR-DC up as just a book reader and that it would open in read mode without me having to go to "View" to first select "Read Mode" and then to "View/Page Display" to select "Two-Page View". It is a frustration, but at least I now know how to read a book without all the tool bars, etc. Beat wishes!
