Huge slowness - almost impossible - to resize the Acrobat window

New Here ,
Sep 30, 2019 Sep 30, 2019

Hi,

I've been suffering for a long time from the slowness with which Acrobat responds when I try to resize its window. Even if I move the mouse too fast to the place I want to enlarge or reduce it, such resizing may become impossible. I wonder if there is an incompatibility problem. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet with m7 x64 processor with 16GB of RAM and always had Windows 10 updated to the latest version. Of course, my Acrobat DC is also updated to the latest version, currently: 2019.012.20040

Acrobat is so slow in resizing that it looks like an application from the Windows 8 era.
Does anyone suffer the same problem or know of any solution?

Thank you very much

I know that this is an old post, but I think that I figured out why this is happening.  I'm on a 2021 M1 Pro MBP.  Running the latest version (2023.001.20093).

This has something to do with the adobe cloud connected services.  The simple fix is to click the "home" tab, then select "Starred" instead of "recent".  When I did this, then clicked back to the document I was reviewing, the window resize lag stopped.  Best guess is that it is a sync issue with the cloud, bogging down the software.

The other solution is to clear your recents or disconnect the cloud services.

Hope this helps.

Hi

I have the same problem on MacOS with Acrobat Pro DC.
No other software reacts like this…

My workaround is… to not resize Acrobat's window.

😞

I know this is an old post but I'm suffering from the same issue of a serious time lag when resizing the acrobat window where it becomes really sluggish and even moving the window about the screen is slow. You suggest accessing the 'Home tab' on Creative Cloud app (assuming you mean this) and selecting 'Starred' instead of  'Recent' but all i see is Recent?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Michael5ED9,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.

I see that you are using a very old version of Acrobat. Would you mind updating the app to the latest version (2025.001.20432) and let us know if the issue is fixed?

To do so, go to Help-> Check for Updates.

If it persists, please help us gather the logs from your machine: https://adobe.ly/41XHT3Y. You can upload logs using this tool and share your Unique log ID with us.

Regards,

Thanks for getting back. Acrobat v2025 – the most recent version. I can't find the hamburger menu

Help > Troubleshoot Acrobat. I prefer the legacy version appearance not the new look Acrobat so this hamburger many be in a different place.

You are a genius! Thanks for this workaround.

I switched to Windows 2 years ago and the issue is the same than on MacOS.
