Hi,
I've been suffering for a long time from the slowness with which Acrobat responds when I try to resize its window. Even if I move the mouse too fast to the place I want to enlarge or reduce it, such resizing may become impossible. I wonder if there is an incompatibility problem. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet with m7 x64 processor with 16GB of RAM and always had Windows 10 updated to the latest version. Of course, my Acrobat DC is also updated to the latest version, currently: 2019.012.20040
Acrobat is so slow in resizing that it looks like an application from the Windows 8 era.
Does anyone suffer the same problem or know of any solution?
Thank you very much

I know that this is an old post, but I think that I figured out why this is happening. I'm on a 2021 M1 Pro MBP. Running the latest version (2023.001.20093).
This has something to do with the adobe cloud connected services. The simple fix is to click the "home" tab, then select "Starred" instead of "recent". When I did this, then clicked back to the document I was reviewing, the window resize lag stopped. Best guess is that it is a sync issue with the cloud, bogging down the software.
The other solution is to clear your recents or disconnect the cloud services.
Hope this helps.

Hi
I have the same problem on MacOS with Acrobat Pro DC.
No other software reacts like this…
My workaround is… to not resize Acrobat's window.
😞

I know this is an old post but I'm suffering from the same issue of a serious time lag when resizing the acrobat window where it becomes really sluggish and even moving the window about the screen is slow. You suggest accessing the 'Home tab' on Creative Cloud app (assuming you mean this) and selecting 'Starred' instead of 'Recent' but all i see is Recent?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for getting back. Acrobat v2025 – the most recent version. I can't find the hamburger menu
> Help > Troubleshoot Acrobat. I prefer the legacy version appearance not the new look Acrobat so this hamburger many be in a different place.

Yes, this is a known frustration for some Acrobat users — window resizing in Acrobat DC can feel unusually slow or even unresponsive compared to other apps. It’s usually not a hardware limitation (your specs are more than sufficient) but rather how Acrobat handles rendering its interface. A few things you can try that often help:
Disable hardware acceleration in Acrobat’s preferences under Edit > Preferences > Page Display.
Turn off protected mode at startup (temporarily for testing, under Preferences > Security (Enhanced)).
Make sure your graphics drivers are fully up to date, since display issues often tie back to GPU handling.
As a workaround, try running Acrobat in compatibility mode for Windows 8 or use Acrobat Reader to check if the behavior persists.
Many users have reported improvement after toggling hardware acceleration or updating display drivers. If nothing helps, it’s worth flagging directly with Adobe Support, as they’ve acknowledged performance issues like this in the past and may have a patch or workaround for your version.
