Hyperlinks in PDFs embedded in WordPress Issues

New Here ,
Feb 21, 2025 Feb 21, 2025

In WordPress, the hyperlinks in embedded PDFs are meant to take logged-in users to an internal page.

However, what happens is the user is sent to the login page after clicking the link.

When opened in a new tab, the user remains logged in and can view the page (Chrome).

This issue is only happening with hyperlinks in PDFs embedded in the page. With Chrome, opening in a new tab or copy-paste will allow the user to view the page. With Edge, the user is taken to the login page regardless of how they attempt to access the page.

The desired behaviour is: User logs in, navigates to page with PDF, clicks link in PDF and can view page (while remaining logged in).

Any solution is appreciated, this does not seem to be as common of an issue as expected.
