I am adding text to a pdf but text is not visible [title edited for brevity]

The add text option seems to function just fine....but you are not able to see  the text. This is a new problem for me. It is almost as though the text is "clear". Other functions are working correctly from what I can tell.

What color did you choose?

I was using blue....then tried black....then red

I am having this same problem. I've rebooted but still not able to see the text within a text box. What was the resolution?
